Supporting Our Communities

Ian MacCara Director Pictou Mutual Insurance Company delivers $1500.00 from Pictou Mutual Community Foundation to Jim White center and Ken Pierson right. Jim is Chairmen of the Board for the West Branch Community Hall and Ken is a Director. The West Branch Community Hall is part of an active rural community located about midway between Scotsburn and River John on the northern shore of Nova Scotia. Director Harry Redmond (L) who was honored when Pictou Mutual Community Foundation made a donation to New Glasgow Academy recognizing his 41 years as a director with Pictou Mutual Insurance Company. Don McInnis (R) a Trustee of Pictou Mutual Community Foundation was also present to take note of the plaque marking a classroom in Harry's Honor.For more on the New Glasgow Academy please click here.

Ruth Thompson (L) of the Plymouth Community Centre and Recreation Association accepting a donation from Donna MacDonald (R) on behalf of the Pictou Mutual Community Foundation in support the renovations and updates the Community Centre required.The Community Centre was the former school house for the area from 1919 - 1974 when it was decommissioned as a school due to elementary school consolidation.
